Abstract:
The flexible insulation was prepared by adding Zn (MAA)2or Mg (MAA)2into the blended EPDM/NBR. The effect of the content of Zn (MAA)2and Mg (MAA)2on the bonding property between 45#steel and insulation was investigated respectively. The results show that a small amount of Zn (MAA)2or Mg (MAA)2in the blended EPDM/NBR both can improve obviously the bonding strength between 45#steel and insulation without using any other adhesive. With the increase of the contents of Zn (MAA)2, the bonding strength increases firstly, but then sharply decreases after 2 phr. The destruction of all the samples added with Zn (MAA)2occurs on the bonding surface when pulled off. However, when Mg (MAA)2is added instead of Zn (MAA)2, the bonding strength between 45#steel and insulation increases continuously with the increasing the contents of Mg (MAA)2, and it is higher than that of insulation with in the same content Zn (MAA)2. And all the samples destructive modes happen within the insulation. The bonding strength of all the samples are all above 4.58 MPa containing 2-7 phr Mg (MAA)2.
