Abstract:
In order to improve the film cooling effectiveness in the middle and high blowing ratios due to the counter rotating vortices occurred easily, the new kinds of film cooling holes with anti-vortex configuration are proposed and investigated in this paper. Four anti-vortex film cooling holes are designed based on the different geometrical parameters, and the flow structure and film cooling effectiveness characteristics of the flat plate using the anti-vortex holes have been investigated firstly. Then the anti-vortex film cooling design are applied in the cascade endwalls with cooling holes arrayed in a single row and in double rows respectively, and the film cooling characteristics of different cooling configuration in each blowing ratio are numerically analyzed. The results indicate that the all anti-vortex film cooling holes have the larger cooling area and the coolant jet close to the cooling surface, thus protecting the surface effectively.
