Abstract:
In milling-grinding machines, rotary tables with sub-micron accuracy are becoming more necessary. Usually, the radial error of rolling bearing is difficult to achieve the sub-micron accuracy. For this reason, the hydrostatic bearing with high rotation accuracy and large supporting stiffness were used in rotary table in milling-grinding machine. The present work describe the design, development and testing of precision hydrostatic rotary table consisting of a journal bearing and a double-thrust bearing. For precision design of components, radial and axial runout error models were established. Performed tests indicate that the preliminary measured accuracy highlight the proposed hydrostatic rotary table's potential for millinggrinding machine.
