Abstract:
Bimodulous elliptical plate could form compression and tensile area under external loads. Bimodulous elliptical plate is regarded as laminated plate composited of two kind of orthotropic materials. Static equilibrium equation of bimodulous elliptical plate under the external loads is established by using elasticity theory. The location of neutral plane in bimodulous elliptical plate is determined by the utilization of static equilibrium equation. The nonlinear bending deformation differential equations of bimodulous elliptical plate is derived, and the deflection function of bimodulous elliptical plate is got. Through the FEM analysis of elliptical plate, the correctness of the method is verified. The main conclusions are as follows: the deflection and moment calculation of elliptical plate with larger difference between tensile elastic modulus and compressive elastic modulus should base upon the elasticity theory with different elastic moduli in tension and compression but not the classical elasticity theory with same elastic modulus.
