Abstract:
This article presents a thermal modeling and simulation of fast electric fuses used for power electronic protection equipment. These devices still have low overload abilities and need fast protection, justifying the researches in this domain area. For a fast fuse it was realized a 3D model with the Pro-Engineer software. Temperature distribution through the fuse and through all fuselink elements simulated and analyzed. Thus, with the 3D simulation, the design of the fuse can be improved and can be estimated better solutions to protect the power semiconductor equipment. © 2018 IEEE.
