Abstract:
Epoxy-mica stator insulation system is one of the most important parts of generator. In most cases the reliability and residual life of generators greatly depend on the condition of stator insulation. A accelerated aging test was conducted on epoxy-mica insulation under electrical-thermal stress and thermal-mechanical stress. In the period of aging, dynamic mechanical analysis was employed to investigate the aging characteristics of insulation materials. The test results show that the trend of dynamic mechanical properties is fairly consistent with that of dielectric dissipation. Accordingly, the dynamic mechanical properties can be used to describe the aging characteristics of stator insulation epoxy-mica.
