Abstract:

A discrete ordinates method for two-dimensional neutron transport equation based on unstructured-meshes is derived from the first order neutron transport equation. A set of differential equations about the spatial variables can be obtained. They are solved iteratively by using the least-squares finite element method. A two-dimensional transport calculation code is encoded. The numerical results of some benchmark problems demonstrate that this method can be used in unstructured-meshes and can give high precision result.
